12/14/2023 0 Comments Dwarf fortress fps mod 2019![]() ![]() I would like to be able to modify this all the way down to real time. However, as it says, at 30 FPS a year of game calendar time will still pass by in approximately 3 and 1/2 hours. By manipulating the game files, as is clearly stated in the wiki, you can modify the FPS settings, and by default even manipulate them in game, and by lowering the FPS you could effectively slow down the flow of time. The specific quantity of time that the in-game clock advances per tick, is what I want to manipulate. Thus, the simulation of time runs 144 times faster in fortress mode on a per-tick basis. In adventurer mode, 1 tick moves time forward by 0.5 seconds, whereas in fortress mode this causes 72 seconds to pass by. I bought a craptop thinking Id do some DF at work in my spare time. It says:Įvery tick causes the in-game clock to advance by a specific quantity of time that varies depending on the game mode. Looking for a good mod to reduce item count. All fps mentioned in this thread is referring to the game fps, not the graphical fps. Temperature is disabled to help with fps. If you look at the Dwarf Fortress Wiki, there is some very useful information. I have 105 dwarves (capped at 110) on a 4x4 map (default) on a medium sized world with all default settings except civilizations are set to low instead of medium. Motherboard BIOS firmware and AMD CHipset drivers were updated to the latest prior to tests. What I am interested in doing is altering the actual in-game time that passes on the calendar when the game is running, per frame. System used was Asus Prime X570-P motherboard, 32 GB of RAM (3200 Mhz, exact timings evade me), Radeon RX6600, Windows 10 21H2.I was planning doing bit longer tests, but I got a brainfart while doing tests on 3800X and ended up with shorter version as I really didn't want switch back to 3800X. 7:31am I hope Phoebus is a default (or at least compatible) graphics set in the released version. Ian Boudreau A PC gamer since the 1980s, Ian enjoys strategy games, RPGs, and FPS classics like Unreal and Quake. These are Steam Workshop and the Dwarf Fortress File Depot (DFFD). Dwarf fortress has always had full graphics packs(and many mods on the forums) available. This Dwarf Fortress mod adds the alien parasite from The Thing. Stellaris was restarted after each test. There are two official platforms for publishing Dwarf Fortress mods, recommended because its easy for people to find them there.Camera was not moved after exiting to the galaxy map. Game was switched to observer mode using console and galaxy map before starting the test.I progressed the game few months forward so that I could get the end of year to the test too without making it overly long. Post above lists the game settings for the save.I suspect slightly longer test would have increased the difference a bit as there a noticeable slowdown after unpausing the loaded game. 3800X completed 98 days in 70 seconds, 1,4 days/second.The exact save game used for the tests is attached to this post. Sorry about double post, but I just finished my really quick and dirty comparison of AMD Ryzen 3800X and 5800X3D in Stellaris. Or if it's just not alot of money to them and they judge it worth it They benefit alot of more mainstream games like regular FPS' and stuff too, but I think anyone considering a somewhat specialized CPU like these should make sure they're doing it because it greatly benefits a majority of what they play and likely will in the future, for the life of that PC/CPU. I would say it's a majority of my playtime though that has massive gains from the X3Ds. ![]() If it was only one game bottlenecking I'd completely agree. MOBAs (DotA) which I play gets a ton of value from it. I can't imagine whats gonna happen with Vic3s pop system. ![]() CK3 was super laggy in some late game scenarios - people made a population control mod to delete insignificant characters for it. HoI4 starts chugging late game, especially with ExpertAI mod. WoW, especially with lots of UI add-ons, benefits a ton from the X3D. Some examples include a German Shepherd, Mastiff, and even a. Dizzy’s Dog Breeds adds a variety of different dog breeds into the game to replace the generic mutt. Fortunately, Dizz圜rash has come to the rescue. Click to expand.I'd agree if it was just Stellaris - but I play several paradox games, and it's also been a recurring theme in other games I've played for many years. Hi, I played one or two hours with lazynoobpack and an hour or so with masterwork modpack and the game is confusing but fun. A dog is a dwarf's best friend, but the default dog in Dwarf Fortress feels more like an acquaintance. ![]()
